The McCartney title is a slight pop at Sir Paul for having a solo exhibition in the Walker, when the chances for artists like Matt come about with the like of the John Moores exhibition every two years. Also on this painting is a man selling kites ‘WILDE KITES’. The kites have a small model of Matt hanging from them in a hang-glider style and the kite is a painting of Matt’s from the exhibition.
